Group payment module is new payment method that allows few customers to pay for one order, via bank transfer. It is very useful when group of friends want to buy a present together.

On module installation new payment method 'Group payment' is added, with 2 new order statuses: 'group-payment pending' and 'group-payment processing'.

Also on installation three new transactional emails are created: Grouppaymnet Order Placed', Grouppayment Members Shipment Update' and Grouppayment Members Payment Update'.


- This extension is compatible with Magento versions 1.7.x-1.9.x

- This extension is compatible with default checkout and One Step Checkout module.

- This extension is compatible with the Magento SUPEE-6285 patch.



If you have compilation enabled, please disable it before installing this extension. You can check compilation status in System → Tools → Compilation under 'Compiler status'.

1. Copy the folders (and its content): "app", "js", "skin" to your root Magento directory.

2. Clear the Magento cache.

3. Log out and log in again in your Magento admin.


System -> Configuration -> B2B Extensions -> Group Payment

The configuration consists of three parts:

1. Info & Support: An overview of the extension information such as version number, compatibility, documentation and support.
2. License: Add your license key to this section.

3. Setting "Group Payment" payment method:

Browse to System -> Configuration -> Sales -> Payment Methods -> Group Payment

Enabled: Yes/No.

Title: Method name that will be shown on checkout page .

Update Email Template: Transactional email that is sent by clicking 'Update email members' button from backend order view .

Order Placed Email Template: Transactional email that is sent when order is placed by group payment method .

Order Shipped Email Template: Transactional email that is sent by clicking 'Shipping-email members' button from backend order view .

Payment Information: Information about the bank that is used for transactions .

Sort Order: Order of the method when shown on checkout page.

When order is placed, the person who made the order gets standard 'New order' email, but in addition, email 'Grouppayment order placed ' is sent to all persons involved in the group payment. This email contains information about all members involved in payment, gift receiver, message from the organiser, latest date the payment should be complete. Created order gets status 'grouppayment pending' and unique group-payment ID number.

In Magento backend when client click the order he can see view-order page with additional block ‘payment details’. This block contains information about group-payment as group-payment ID number, message from the organizer, and data for all co-payers (name, email, amount, has paid). The client can check bank account for specific order group-payment ID, and can check the checkboxes for members that have already paid. Client can click a button 'Update email' which will send emails to all members, in which will be specified who have paid or not.

When all members have paid, the order gets status 'group-payment processing' and client can click 'Shipped email' button to send emails to all members that the payment is completed. After that the order can be invoiced or shipped, but order status will remain 'group-payment processing'.


Checkout page

On checkout page customer can select 'group payment method' and additional form will be displayed. Here customer fill data about gift receiver, the organizer and all members involved in group payment. Also amount that will be paid by every member is specified and the sum of all amounts must be equal to the order total amount, otherwise an error message will be shown and order cannot be placed.


1. Change the “Active” element to “false” /etc/modules/Ecomwise_Grouppayment.xml and save the file.

2. Flush Magento cache.

This will set the extension to inactive. However, if more explicit action is needed:

- Remove all files from file system.

- Remove the entry with code='grouppayment_setup' in the core_resource database table.
