Make sure cron.php, file located in the Magento root, is set on crontab, to run periodically (example on every 5,10,15 minutes).

To check if cron is enabled:

- If ssh connection available: crontab -l. Syntax for enabling magento cron:

    */5 * * * *  php /absolute/path/to/magento/cron.php

- If control panel available check 'Cron jobs'.

- If only database access available: check database table 'cron_schedule' and see if new processes are scheduling.

In 'cron_schedule' database table, there should be new cron jobs generated, with frequency defined in the crontab . For example when cron.php set in crontab as

*/5 * * * *  php /absolute/path/to/magento/cron.php , we are expection on every 5 minutes new cron jobs to be generated, and existing cron jobs with status 'pending' to be executed, regarding the time scheduled.
